About Author Rani Divine

I’m Rani. If you’re here, then I guess you’re interested in this stuff.

I was born in Minnesota and raised in New Mexico. Writing has always been something that I enjoyed, and when I started college I knew right where to go. I began in the field of professional writing, and the decision to pursue a degree in creative writing came only after the completion of my first two novels.

Technically, I first started writing when I was in middle school, having been inspired by the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. My first novel attempt (and I don’t use that word loosely) was focused around the fantasy genre, and was lost (literally lost: I don’t know where it went) before its completion. My second novel attempt brought me back into the world of science fiction with a short story about a rogue artificial intelligence during the Iraq war. The story was recently put into the attic, as I no longer believe in its plausibility.

The Advanced Saga, my first full series, was written in three years and includes four full-length novels. The first book, Telekinetic, was completed within six months. The Druid Novels, of which Coetir is the first, has yet to be completed—but I’m only two books away. I’m currently writing several other full-length novels and have completed nine novels altogether, all of which have been signed to RAD Writing for publication.

I currently volunteer as a writer at the Believers Center of Albuquerque, where I also attend. I am a grace-believing Christian and am very open about my faith (really: ask me about it).

As for random trivia, I like epic music, I don’t know how to dance, I have an affinity for Indian food, and I’m currently learning to speak Russian. How’s that for random?

Oh, and in case you weren't sure, it's pronounced like "Ronnie."
